In 1979, there was an Airline established as Air Lanka in Srilanka and then this airline was converted into SriLankan Airline as the National flag carrier of Srilanka. It has its main hub based in Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. It provide service of travelling around 33 destinations from its working hub. From January of 2016, SirLankan Airline operating 258 Flights per week to 33 destinations in 22 countries to the Middle East, Europe, Far East, South Asia and Southeast Asia. From 1 May 2014, SriLankan Airline becomes the member of Oneworld Airline Alliance. In the Beginning it was the in partnership with Emirates but in 2008, the President Mahinda Rajapakse decided to end the partnership with Emirates.
